Fjorward - Christine Corday
Fjorward is a sculpture by Christine Corday, symbolizing the enduring passage of time and human progress. Crafted from weathered Corten steel, the piece reflects the historic iron foundries of Peekskill and the ancient ice flows that carved the Hudson River fjord. The sculpture features a circular band held in tension by two directional plates, representing the continuous shaping of time and space. As visitors move through the artwork, it echoes the natural history of the site while inviting contemplation of the inevitable aging and transformation of all materials, much like the valley itself. Part of Corday's PUBLIC SKIN series, Fjorward captures the intersection of human experience and the enduring forces of nature.
