Originally part of Peekskill projects, The Golden Mean, a bronze sculpture by Carole A. Feuerman, symbolizes the resilience of the human spirit, strength, and the pursuit of the impossible. Featuring a male diver with a gold-leafed cap, the piece uses a black and naturally bronzing patina to create a striking silhouette that echoes classical Greek art. Installed at Peekskill Riverfront Green, this 1,500-pound sculpture stands as a beacon of human ambition and artistic achievement. Initially part of a temporary art festival, the sculpture became a permanent fixture thanks to the efforts of HVMOCA, The City of Peekskill, and the generosity of the artist.
