Arc - William Logan
Arc is a kinetic sculpture by William Logan, inspired by river-going vessels and nautical moorings. Crafted from welded aluminum, steel chains, and shackles, the sculpture is designed to reflect Peekskill's riverfront and the surrounding hills. Its buoyant design allows it to move with the wind, gently tipping and rolling like a boat on a mooring. Arc serves as a visible landmark that indicates wind direction, highlighting the bend in the river at Peekskill Bay. Logan, trained as an architect and influenced by his experiences in sailing and engineering, created Arc as part of the Hudson River trail beautification project. The sculpture embodies the harmony between structure, wind, and movement.
