Jan Peek's Vine - Joy Taylor

"Jan Peeck’s Vine" (2012) by Joy Taylor is a vibrant steel sculpture at Peekskill Station, inspired by the local bindweed plants. The artwork begins with two sculptures on the southbound platform that morph from structured girders into twisting vines and flowing leaves. As they climb the station's columns, the vines curve into an organic design, creating a large arbor above the stairs. The sculpture blends historical elements of the station with modern aesthetics, symbolizing the city's artistic growth. Taylor's work, fabricated by KC Fabrications, celebrates the connection between nature and urban architecture.
